What changed in Black Flag Resynced

Resynced is a remake of the 2013 game, but Ubisoft lists meaningful changes across presentation, stealth, combat, parkour, naval systems, and new content.

Visual and world changes

The remake uses the latest Anvil engine with ray-traced lighting, micropolygon rendering, PBR assets, modern water rendering, dynamic weather, and environment reactions.

Gameplay changes

Ubisoft lists crouch-anywhere stealth, Observe mode, dive-anywhere approaches, new parries, quick-fire rope dart and pistol moves, new enemy types, manual jump, side ejects, and height-gaining back ejects.

  • Tailing missions are more forgiving.
  • Naval combat adds secondary weapons and faction equipment differences.
  • Kenway's Fleet is reworked into a passive-income system.

Content changes

Ubisoft highlights new story arcs, new missions, new scenes, officers for the Jackdaw, new sea shanties, pets, photo mode, and edition-specific packs. The official FAQ says multiplayer is not included.
