Jackdaw upgrades and naval progression

Black Flag Resynced keeps the Jackdaw central and adds new naval layers: officers, secondary weapons, reworked enemy factions, pets, and a reworked fleet economy.

What changed for the Jackdaw

Ubisoft's launch article says the remake adds new secondary weapons, reworks enemy ship factions, updates Kenway's Fleet into a passive-income system, and lets players customize the Jackdaw with new skins and pets.

Early upgrade priority

Prioritize survival and control before vanity. Hull, broadside damage, mortar/secondary tools, and boarding reliability matter more than a cosmetic sail when you are still opening the map.

  • Keep captured ships flowing into Kenway's Fleet once that system opens.
  • Recruit officers as soon as their quests are available.
  • Farm materials as part of route cleanup instead of sailing empty lines across the map.

When to delay hard fights

If a fort, convoy, or legendary ship turns into a resource drain, leave it marked and return after a hull and weapon pass. The remake's new combat tools do not replace raw ship durability.

Questions

Is Kenway's Fleet still in the game?

Ubisoft says Kenway's Fleet has been reworked and is now available in the Captain's Cabin and across versions.

Should I spend early money on ship cosmetics?

Only after core ship upgrades are comfortable. Cosmetic slots are fun, but survival and damage make the guide content easier.
